Classic Shortwave UV Mineral Specimen with Excellent Fluorescent Coverage, Very Bright Colors & Gorgeous Patterns from Frankli, NJ!
Pieces Such as This, with a Band of Hardystonite in Between Willemite-Rich Ore, are Often Called "Jelly Wigglers" or "Jigglers" by Some of the Old-Timers. This is Due to There Being an Optical Illusion When the Rock is Shaken from Side-to-Side Quickly Under SW UV, Which Makes It Appear as Though the Hardystonite is "Jiggling" As If It Were Jello/Jelly!
Fluorescent Hardystonite Band (Blue / Violet SW)
Through Ore Comprised of Daylight Green Willemite (Bright Green SW & LW) & Non-Fluorescent, Black Metallic Franklinite (Type Locality)
Locality: Franklin, Sussex County, New Jersey, USA
Weighs: 2 lbs. 9 ozs.
Measures Approximately: 4.2" x 3.3" x 3.2"
Ex.: Jim Van Fleet
Ex.: Claude Poli
All Pics Show Shortwave UV Fluorescent Response & were Taken Using a 35w WayTooCool SW Light. Fluorescent Response will Vary Depending on Strength of Light Used, but Any Decent Light of the Proper Wavelength(s) Will Produce a Similar Response!
Please Note: Fluorescent Minerals Require a Shortwave (SW) and/or Longwave (LW) Ultraviolet (UV) Light for the Fluorescent Response Shown in the Pictures! a Black Light is NOT a SW/LW Light, although Some Rocks May also Show Under Black Light as well!
